Our objectives
STKL's Founding Vision & Mission
In 2007, five young founders (Stanley Wu (鄔舜輝)，Tang (鄧雅婷)，Hui (許雅珊)，Choi (蔡子俊)，Kan (簡思維)) were inspired by media reports about a local food stall in Ho Man Tin that was distributing free congee meal sets to residents in need. This generous act deeply moved them.
They were further inspired to assemble a volunteer team and reached out to the Tin Shui Wai Integrtated Family Welfare Centre and the International Social Service Hong Kong Branch. Together, they organized their inaugural volunteer event, 'Family Outing at the Holiday Farm,' providing single-parent families with the opportunity to enjoy nature and experience a delightful Sunday.
Subsequently, they sought to collaborate with the The Hong Kong Society for the Aged to organize volunteer activities.
This included home visits to the seniors, celebrations for the Lunar New Year, Autumn excursions, and other activities. Through these experiences, they recognized the need to implement medium- to long-term initiatives to genuinely care for the aged. As a result, they launched the 'Regular Home visit Program,' aimed at establishing trust through consistent meetings with isolated seniors, thereby enabling them to assist in improving their quality of life.
During their activities in the Tsuen Wan and Kwai Tsing District, the volunteer team received commendation from the Social Welfare Department. This recognition led to the establishment of STKL. The mission of STKL is to sincerely support the seniors and enrich lives by helping others. Through building mutual trust, STKL aims to encourage seniors to step out of their homes and participate in community events, thereby enhancing neighborhood relationships and facilitating their integration into the community, ultimately achieving the goal of harmonious living.
